Somewhere in Ontario

I love the green summers you find here in Ontario. Everything just came together for this shot, the field, the barn and the sky! I don't know about you, but I'm glad Friday is here. My golf league has its final round this Saturday and then a BBQ party. Lots of fun! for more skies, take a look at Skywatch.

Spring is here!

This shot may not look super-springy, but warm weather has finally made it's way to the cold tundra of Toronto! The trees are a little bare yet, but just look at that wonderful green grass. 

Punchbowl barn

I'm not sure if I ever showed any shots of the dry Devil's Punch Bowl falls, but here's a look at a small farmer's market type store that bears its name. I would have loved to buy one of those beautiful hanging baskets, but I settled on some homemade banana bread instead!

Hope everyone has great plans for the weekend. It's going to be a wet one here in Ontario. Maybe that's a good sign for me to get back to the gym.

Barn and bench

I was looking through my archives (don't worry, Toronto is a little greener than this these days!) when I came upon this lovely barn and bench. I thought it was worth showing, even if the photo was taken back in March. It comes to you from the Riverdale Farm - a real, working farm in the middle of the city. They also host a farmer's market on certain days of the week and alot of the produce is organic. It's another nice place to get out and about in Toronto.

Riverdale barn

This is the very barn where I met Chickie and the porcine smoochers. I love the look of the wood. But don't be fooled, it may look rustic but you can be sure this barn is well-cared-for and will be around for awhile.

Hope mill

A visit to the Hope Mill will take you back a couple of centuries. The mill and dam remain on their original site, contributing to the unique character of this historic landmark of Peterborough County. Operation continues today, locals can bring their logs to have them sawed down and artisans still make furniture and other wooden goods to sell onsite. Although it's tucked back into a rural area, it was certainly worth a visit. I am linking this one to Barn Charm.

Charming barn

I found this abandoned barn on the edge of the Sunnybrae golf course in Port Perry. It was really lovely. To see more barns, check out Barn Charm.
