Bye bye!

It's off into the sunset for me! Before making the big move overseas, I will be spending some relaxing time on the beaches of Australia.

Be on the lookout for a new Berlin Daily Photo blog at the beginning of November. Although I will probably keep this blog up for awhile too since I've still got plenty of unshared shots. Until then, I may be posting sporadically on my travel blog, but it will depend on how the internet connections are in the "land down under" and how motivated I am to post!

Ta ta for now and see you soon mates!

401 bridge

A look at the 401 bridge from the Don Valley golf course. This is where I played the final round of my golf league. It's pretty funny to play golf right in the middle of the city.  You really feel like you're out in nature! For more bridges, visit Sunday Bridges.

Reflecting

Anyone who knows me will know where this shot was taken... on the golf course! I can't resist a good reflection, but my playing season is over as my clubs have already been shipped to Berlin. For more reflections, take a look at Weekend Reflections.

Watchful bench

Here's another golf course bench for you, courtesy of Black Bear Ridge. I liked this one especially because of the owl statue watching over it in the background. This course was very challenging but in fantastic shape. Everything was so green - just like in this picture.

Fences and trees

Here's a look at some golf course scenery for you this Friday. I like the vertical and horizontal lines created by the trees and the fence. Hope you've got exciting plans for the weekend. I need to rest up from my visitors! For more fences, take a look at Friday Fences.

Eagle in silhouette

This year I finally got a round in at Eagle's Nest. This was actually one of the first courses I played this season, but I never got around to posting this shot. The course was really beautiful and very challenging, I'd love to go back. Too many golf courses for so little time!

Floral bench

Lakeridge Links has great landscaping. Who wouldn't want to sit on that bench surrounded by flowers? The only thing that mars the landscape is the big bin. But I guess it has to go somewhere!

Springy signs

The golf season has officially begun here in Toronto! I kicked off the year with a new golf league at the Cardinal course. It was a fun outing, especially since I won the longest drive competition. Let's hope the warm weather is (finally) here to stay so we can take full advantage of the season. For more signs, take a look at Signs, Signs.

On the horizon

I thought it was time to start the voyage into the summer, but we've got snow in the forecast for today! What's happening Canada? Please someone, send some warm weather our way!

Last round

I had to get in one last shot of the golf course where I played my last round of the Canadian season. The fall colors were fantastic back in late October. The temps were pretty warm for that time of year, some brave fellows were even out in shorts - not me though!

Happy Friday! Hope you have big plans for this weekend. For more skies, take a look at Skywatch.

Tranquility

A serene scene from the golf course. This photo was taken on October 21st and sadly, I think it was my last round of golf (in Canada anyway) for the season. Guess I'll have to spend some time swinging in one of those golf bubbles this winter.

Golf course causeway

I like the idea of having a causeway over the fescue at a golf course! I found this example at the Grey Silo course in Waterloo, ON. I was actually there for an LPGA tournament earlier this summer. I even got to meet and greet with the German golfer, Sandy Gal. I try to root for her when I watch the women's events. If you'd like to see more bridges, visit Sunday Bridges.

Sundown on the golf

A beautiful evening sky on the golf course! Hope you have big plans for this long weekend. Mine will definitely include some golf. For more skies, take a look at Skywatch.

Black diamond

Black Diamond is another golf course that I often like to play. A few weeks ago, I even caught a wedding party there. They have a little gazebo in the back which does make a lovely spot to say "I do". I think the couple got their married life off to a good start!

Reflections from the Masters

I haven't shown a golf course shot for awhile, the main reason is typically I'm too busy with my golf shots to think about camera shots! But another reason is the photos never seem to come out as pretty as what I've actually seen. I rather like this reflective pond from the Lionhead Masters course though. You can see all the shades of summer green and you even get a bonus reflection on some of them!

Hope you're having a nice green weekend wherever you are. For more reflections, check out Weekend Reflections.

Bridge in the background

A railway bridge runs behind one of the golf courses I like to play. Luckily, the trains don't run too often on the weekends! The scene looked beautiful a few weeks ago when all the fescue was in bloom. I am having a great, although golf-free weekend and I hope you are too!

If you'd like to see more bridges, visit Sunday Bridges.

Visitor

I can understand why a bee would be attracted to this flower - it's gorgeous! My camera and I were very attracted to it too.

I'm so glad Friday is finally here. If you want to celebrate with more flowers, take a look at Floral Fridays.

Crossing

I find Canada Geese almost as bothersome as squirrels. They make such a mess on the golf course and can get really aggressive. But this one posed so nicely for me as he was crossing the cart path, that I just might change my feelings for them. But probably not.

June theme day: Tranquility

If this isn't the picture of tranquility, I don't know what is! I've also got a bonus tranquil shot for you on my travel blog. And of course, you can see more scenes of tranquility at the CDP site.

Happy June everyone!!!

Golf reflections

Spring is slowly taking over as the many shades of brown turn into the bright colors of spring. Enjoy your weekend!
