Red delicious

A Rickard's Red is good any time of the day (well, after noon at least), but it's especially refreshing on a warm Indian summer day. Reminds me, the weekend is coming!

Royal fruit

I just liked the name of this fruit stand. I found it on Danforth, that's the Greek section of Toronto. To see more signs from around the world, visit Signs, Signs.

Red bench

This beauty comes to you from the Royal Botanical Gardens. I'll be traveling home to Oklahoma City this week, but hopefully I'll be able to get online a bit while I'm there. To see more red from around the world, visit Ruby Tuesday.

Machine in monochrome

This is an old piece of machinery that was on display at the Distillery District downtown. According to one of my readers, it's a "chomper". I think that's a reasonable deduction as to what this machine does.  Happy Monday!

Old and new

It was a bit strange at the old Fort York. It's really right in the middle of downtown and you definitely feel the juxtaposition of old and new when you take a look around. That bridge you see is the Gardiner Expressway, one of the busier roads that take commuters into town. I wonder what old Simcoe would think about his fort now?

Fort details

More from the old fort today. I loved this old door with the nuts and bolts. It seemed to lend itself well to black and white. Maquette reflections

I tried really hard to get a shot of this model ship without the reflections from the glass. At the end of the day, I sort of like the effect. And I really like the ship! Visit Weekend Reflections for more mirrored shots from around the world.

Band leader

In addition to the military reenactments, there was also a drum and fife band. I love the costumes. Quite an interesting visit!

Man and doorway

Another great doorway from the Distillery District. I really love the contrast of the red brick and the green door.

But I also think it looks good in black and white. Which one do you prefer?

Old red

I showed you an interesting perspective from the old Fort York earlier this month. Here's a look at some reenactments that were part of the fun at the fort. What I really love is the way everyone is staring down the person on the left. I wonder if someone will be doing push ups later.

Begonias

Beautiful begonias from the Royal Botanical Gardens. I have so many lovely floral shots from the trip. I hope no one gets tired of looking at blooms. Personally, I like the reminder of summer.
