Decayed church

A decaying church. It seems that a congregation still meets here though. It certainly doesn't look like your typical house of worship.

Hope you are enjoying One a Day from Toronto on auto pilot.

Rock on rocks

I couldn't decide what to title this post, so I showed it to my husband and he suggested "rock on rocks". I rather like it. And I especially like this shot in black and white.

Hope you are enjoying One a Day from Toronto on auto pilot. To see more monochrome shots from around the world, visit the Weekend in Black and White.

Silhouette sky

A beautiful blue sky over the city! That tree makes a nice frame in silhouette.

PS: Don't forget to buy your lottery ticket today! It's lucky Friday the 13th!!

Dancing sign

I found this sign in my old neighborhood. I like it somehow... the color and the dancer. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the actual school still exists as this building has a sign up saying that it under consideration for rezoning (i.e. will be torn down soon to make room for more condos).

Hope you are enjoying One a Day from Toronto on auto pilot. Don't forget about the old-timers on my travel blog. And definitely stop by Signs, Signs to see more signs from around the world!

Mausoleum doorway

I recently took a tour around the York Cemetery. It may sound morbid, but I love cemeteries. I find them fascinating and there's plenty of photographic fodder. This particular mausoleum is quite new and modern. Each honoree gets their own glassed in shelf where their loved ones can put some photos and treasures on display. It was really tasteful and gave a small glimpse into the lives of these loved-ones who have passed on.

Hope you are enjoying One a Day from Toronto on auto pilot. I've still got more old-timers on my travel blog so don't forget to stop by!

Crying mask

Although it's bird poo, it appears this mask is crying. This may be the only time I find bird poo attractive.

I also like this shot in black and white. Which do you prefer?

Hope you are enjoying One a Day from Toronto on auto pilot. And don't forget to stop by my travel blog to see some beautiful old-timers.

Bench and shadows

I love the shadows created by the pergola overhead. This bench was in the perfect sunny spot to take advantage of the spring weather which has finally made its way to Canada!

I hope you're enjoying Toronto on auto pilot. I've got a whole series of old-timers this week on my travel blog. Stop by and take a look!

Bright and cheery

A beautiful sign of spring! Today I'm headed back to Jackson for a few days and then I'll be off to Germany to spend some quality time with my MiL. I don't have internet in Jackson anymore, so I've set the blog up for automatic posting. But I'll be more active once I'm in Germany.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. To see more flowers from around the world, visit Today's Flowers.

Au revoir

A last good-bye to my "home" of the past eight weeks. It's only too bad this fountain was only switched on the last week I was here. And it was still a bit cold to sit outside and enjoy the view.

Please enjoy One a Day from Toronto on auto pilot for a few weeks. I'll be checking in when I can.

Look up

A view to one of the many residential buildings in North York. The pergola makes it a bit more interesting. And of course a nice blue sky makes everything look good!

La vie de luxe

This is the foyer of the apartment building I will live in until Saturday morning. There are tons of amenities like a 24-hour concierge, swimming pool, gym, bowling alley and a golf simulation machine. It will sad to leave all of these things, but I'll be glad to have more space. It's been a tight squeeze in our little one-bedroom. I'll miss this place though.

If you like Geneva, stop by my travel blog. I'm featuring the Swiss city all week!

Poor doggie

This guy looks so embarrassed about "doing his business", which as we all know is limited by law! Makes for a funny sign though.

Buds?

The trees are showing some green! I think spring is really on its way.

I'm featuring Geneva all week on my travel blog. Stop by and take a look.

Through the trees

A view of the beautiful Canadian flag through the still un-greened trees. I do have hope that spring is coming though. I saw loads of flowers this weekend that were just lovely.

May theme day: Mailbox

The colorful Canadian Post mailboxes. Slip your letter in one of these and it'll be on the way to it's destination in no time! It's certainly a change from their less lively blue cousins in the US. But I like them, change is good!

To see more mailboxes from around the world, visit today's CDP theme day.
