I love a splash of red, especially when it comes to footwear. Every woman (and man) needs a nice pair of red shoes and this pair would fit my style perfectly! For more red, take a look at Ruby Tuesday.

Super shiny!
I stopped by the Bolton / Caledon Midnight Madness celebration last Friday. Businesses and local services were out and about to answer questions and provide information. I really loved this big, shiny fire truck! Who doesn't love a big splash of red? For more red, visit Ruby Tuesday.
Pop of red
If you need a quick fix of red, this bright poppy will do the trick! For more red, visit Ruby Tuesday.
Pop of red
I spotted a splash of red on Queen Street West. It's always a fun place to wander around on a nice sunny day! I'm just glad we're finally starting to get some heat. For more red, visit Ruby Tuesday.
Bullseye!
Target stores are a common sight for those of you in the US, but the stores have just recently expanded into Canadian territory much to the excitement of my compatriots. Although it's nice to have the stores closer to home, they still don't feel the same as US Targets to me. Perhaps it's a bit of homesickness. For more signs, take a look at Signs, Signs.
Bright benches
Sorry I've been a bit out of commission lately, but the (fairly) new job is still keeping me quite busy. Since I haven't had much time to shoot anything new, here's a look at some benches outside a fast food joint in Niagara Falls. I love the bright red of those benches. But the best part of this photo is the fake owl on the upper left corner to keep the pigeons at bay. For more red, visit Ruby Tuesday.
PS: I've been posting more regularly on my Travel Blog as I've got plenty of new shots to showcase over there. Please stop by and take a look.
Halftime show
I went to a Raptors basketball game this past weekend. It was a great game with lots of action which the Raptors won by a slim margin in the last minutes! But I always love seeing the dancers work it during the halftime and commercial breaks and let me tell you, those Raptor girls can move! For more red, take a look at Ruby Tuesday.
Wall of posters
A wall of different posters in one of the many design shops in The Junction. I found the meat cut and knife depictions especially interesting.
Going up!
This brightly colored escalator will take you up and down at the TIFF Gallery Lightbox. The Lightbox hosts different exhibits and also runs a sort of art house movie theater. Right now they're having a retrospective of Canadian movies. There are a few I wouldn't mind seeing, I just need to find the time! For more red, take a look at Ruby Tuesday.
The apothecary
Who can resist a bright red door like this one? It's so bright and welcoming. You'll find the old apothecary in Niagara-on-the-Lake. It was the town's first pharmacy and now is open as a museum honoring those "old days". If you like seeing red, head over to Ruby Tuesday.
Red brick facade
Behind the door of this red brick facade lies The National Club of Toronto. If serves as a watering hole for the city's elite. Not being rich or a high-ranking politician, I'll probably never cross this building's threshold. I'll just admire this place from outside - I don't think I'd really want to be a member at a place like this anyway. For more red, head to Ruby Tuesday.
Shiny maples
Another look at Pardes Shalom. I love those beautiful red maples. Glad I caught them before all the color blew away! For more reds, head over to Ruby Tuesday.
Lava
I saw this work of art at the Gardiner Museum a few weeks ago. There was actually a contest going on and this was one of the works in the running. It's a porcelain chain-link volcano entitled Shelter. For more red, take a look at Ruby Tuesday.
Memorial walk
A closer look at the memorial walk I showed yesterday. As some commenters expressed, it does seem a sort of strange place for remembering those who are no longer with us.
But this additional plaque explains that those who are remembered here were part of Sarnia's elite - those craftspeople who helped build the city and make it what it is today. A nice way to be remembered!
Donated stone
I found a sort of memorial garden along the waters edge in Sarnia, Ontario. It was a nice place for a stroll, especially on such a lovely, sunny day! For more signs, take a look at Signs, Signs.
Fun times!
I don't like getting on the rides at the fair, but they make for great photography subjects! For more red, take a look at Ruby Tuesday.
Bright friend
I planted some anemone in my garden this year after seeing photos on EG Camera Girl's blog last summer. I read somewhere that they go well with dahlias, so I planted them all together in one bed. So far, I've had very good luck with this little beauty! I've had several blooms of different colours, but I am especially partial to this red one. I'm not sure if these flowers will come back next year, but if not, I'd definitely plant more. For more reds, take a look at Ruby Tuesday.
Confidential to my sister: Happy birthday!!!
Old sign
I don't know if this sign is original, but I found it inside the Old City Hall of Toronto. It's now a court building, so photos aren't really allowed inside, but since this was the top floor near the lifts, I didn't think I'd get caught. And I took it with my iPhone, I'm such a rebel!

Doorway to other places
There is a wonderful Picasso exhibit at the AGO right now. If you haven't been yet, it's still on until August 26th. The space at the AGO is perfect for this show and it's so artfully arranged and curated. Picasso is already one of my favourite artists, but I really feel I learned a lot about him and his work from this show. So if you're in the area, GO to the AGO! You won't regret it.

Hot hats
You don't have to go all the way to London to see the changing of the guard, you can get a great look at the traditional ceremony right in Ottawa! The guard is only ceremonial here in Canada, but it was fun to see the spectacle and hear the marching band. I bet their heads get hot in those fur hats though, especially as we've been having a very hot and dry summer. For more red, take a look at Ruby Tuesday.
