Black and white reflections

A look at the Distillery District by night. I love the lights in black and white! For more reflections, take a look at Weekend Reflections.

Street scene

Another look at the streets of Toronto. Enjoy!

Light at night

Pretty lights strung above our heads at the Toronto Christmas Market. I just love shiny things at night.

Oh nuts!

I found this stand at the Christmas Market rather humorous. For more signs, take a look at Signs, Signs.

Home again

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! Seeing friends and family in Berlin was great, but it's also nice to be back home. Here's another look at the Christmas Market in the Distillery District. I hope your New Year is filled with love, luck and joy!

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season so far! Here's another look at the Christmas Market in the Distillery District. I love all the lights at night. For now, I'll be posting pictures from Berlin on my travel blog. Come take a look.

Warm-up market

I went to the Christmas market in the Distillery District of Toronto this past weekend. I must say it was slightly better than last year, but still nothing compared to the markets of Europe (and Germany especially!). So that's why I'm considering it as a warm-up for the Christmas markets in Berlin that I'll be visiting soon. I'll be flying out this afternoon, but I've put up a few automatic posts for while I'm gone. Hope you enjoy!

The blue hour

The blue hour is that time in the evening when it's not quite light and not quite dark. And this blue hour was made even better with a lovely tree lit up for the holiday season. Hope the weekend ahead is looking good for you. For more skies, take a look at Skywatch.

Zipper

This is my favourite shot from The Ex. It's hard to explain exactly what the zipper is - but let's just say it's not for the faint of stomach! Hope you've got some nice plans for the weekend. It looks like mine is going to include quite a bit of rain.

Classic

The ferris wheel is a fair classic. I love the lights and color against the night sky!

Fun times!

I don't like getting on the rides at the fair, but they make for great photography subjects! For more red, take a look at Ruby Tuesday.

Full moon

We happened to have a full moon on Canada Day night. Luckily it didn't interfere with the fireworks show and it also made for a romantic ambiance that night. A wonderful evening altogether!

It's finally Friday! Hope you have a good weekend lined up. If you'd like to see more skies, visit Skywatch.

Independence Day!

Luckily I can get a double usage from my Canada Day fireworks shots as they also work nicely for Independence Day. Hope all my American friends are having a safe and fun holiday. And hopefully you'll have a fireworks show that was as fantastic as this one to see tonight.

Fireworks

Sorry that I am a little late on my promise, but between the Canada Day holiday and the guests, I couldn't find the time to post anything yesterday. I hope you'll enjoy this sampling from the fireworks show. It was pretty spectacular! Every time I thought I had seen the most beautiful display, another more beautiful one came just behind it. I'm glad I caught some good images to remember it with.

Ryerson reflections

I actually visited Ryerson before the holidays, hence the Christmas lights outside. I caught this shot in one of the student lounges which line the front of the building. I think it's really nice that the students get the nice view, usually the professors and faculty get the prime office space, but I guess Ryerson thinks differently. That's a change for the better in my books!

If you'd like to see more reflections, take a look at Weekend Reflections.

Ryerson by night

Ryerson University is well-known for its film and media departments. This is the film building which has only recently reopened after undergoing an expansion and renovation. I was able to take a tour inside with one of the faculty and it's quite impressive. It also looks neat at night when it glows!

PS: There are still more photos to see on my travel blog. You know you want to look!

By night

I wanted to show some holiday shots before I left T-town to celebrate, but I didn't have the time to program everything. I hope you'll enjoy this nighttime view of the skating rink downtown. I posted a daytime view of this spot a few weeks ago. I was lucky enough to catch the Zamboni making some new ice for the skaters. Fun times!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had wonderful holiday and my best wishes to you for a 2012 filled with joy, love and success!

Merry Christmas

Here's wishing you the merriest of Christmases! This is the nighttime scene in front of City Hall with a beautifully lit tree and a bonus full moon.

Honest sign

Honest Ed's has apparently been part of the Toronto landscape for quite a number of years. I've passed it many times and the sparkly signs and funny sayings always attract me. Someday I'll actually go inside!

Another Toronto blogger has a daytime view of the sign up and you can see more signs from around the world at Signs, Signs.
