Honest Ed's has apparently been part of the Toronto landscape for quite a number of years. I've passed it many times and the sparkly signs and funny sayings always attract me. Someday I'll actually go inside!
Another Toronto blogger has a daytime view of the sign up and you can see more signs from around the world at Signs, Signs.

superbe enseigne qui fait tres las vegas ;)
I FEAR any store that would attach this marque. hahahaha!
Wonderful light sign. Great shot!
This sign looks so different from the one on the link. I imagine shopping in this store is quite a hoot.
Super night shot. But, beware of folks who have to proclaim their "honesty" in neon lights!
I would never be able to resist going in a store like that!
You are right it has been around for a long time. Ed was also the owner of Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto. Nice night photo.
Great shot of the sign with the Vegas-style lights. One would wonder whether this proclamation would encourage doubt about the trust and honesty?

Awesome sign, but I think Birdman has a point here!
You know what? I have never been inside! TRUE! But I have driven past it many times. :)
So what's the bargain?
Ed was quite the guy - gave a lot to the community including free turkeys for everyone at Christmas!
You were in the Annex when you took this pic.
@Birdman, Jacob, Genie & VP - The *real* Torontinians all agree Ed was an all-around good and honest dude! :)
@Lois - we always pass the place at night when it's closed. But you can be sure I'll get in there one of these days.
@Ciel - I'll let you know once I check it out. :)
Will wait to hear of those bargains, with a sign like that I expect lots.
This sign is fantastic. I like the old fashioned marquis signs. It looks completely different from the daytime sign in your link.
For a moment I thought you were in Las Vegas!
Super eye-catching! Hope you will not be desappointed once you go inside... :-)
That is beautiful. That is an awesome place to do nighttime photography ^_^

I saw that on Lesley's before and glad to see it all it up -- what a place!
it looks like a casino.:p
love the lights.
Halcyon, it is almost as much fun as a casino - and cheaper.
Honest Ed's has been there forever, I think (1948, actually). I remember it from the early '70s when I lived nearby... and went to the nearby Royal Alex Theatre and Old Ed's Restaurants. :-)

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
