Getting misty

I was hoping to get out and get some new shots over the weekend, but so far it hasn't happened. We still have quite a bit of snow on the ground and I'd like to catch it before it's gone. I suppose there's still time today! Until then, enjoy this one from the archives. I've got a feeling the falls are looking a bit different these days.

Second choice

I almost chose this shot for yesterday's water's edge theme - I hope you'll still enjoy it! We haven't seen the sun in Toronto for almost a week now, let alone rainbows. I'm hoping we'll have some blue skies this weekend, but who knows? Hope you have a happy weekend! For more skies, take a look at Skywatch.

Dry punchbowl

Since it seems I neglected to show you the actual "punch bowl" here it is! Unfortunately, we had a very dry spring and summer here in Ontario and this waterfall didn't have water when I visited. It's still rather spectacular to see though!

You'll find this fall in Hamilton, Ontario - a city well-known for it's falls. I hope next year they will be a bit more waterfull.

The falls

Niagara Falls is the one tourist attraction in the area I don't mind going to see again and again. I find the rush of water and the power of nature remarkable. I really could probably just stand at the rails for hours watching (and photographing) it. Our guests seemed to enjoy it to when we took them there this past Monday. Just a few more days and I'll be back to regular blogging and commenting, but it's been fun and I've gotten loads of new shots to share.

The Falls

I know you've been waiting for it, so here they are, the famous Niagara Falls. This is a look at the Horseshoe Falls actually, they're on the Canadian side. I'm a little disappointed with my shots from the falls. Unfortunately, it was a gray day so there's not much contrast between the water and the sky. I'm sure I'll get back here though, hopefully on a blue sky day!

PS: I showed High Falls in Rochester yesterday. And I've got even more of the city to show you on my travel blog.
