Some of the subway entrances here in Toronto have domes over them. They make nice photographic opportunities and more importantly, help keep the cold winds out in the winter!

Keeping the cold air out sounds GREAT to me. :))
The domes would be most welcome so far as I'm concerned...I do not, do not, like cold weather!
Looks good. I remember how strange (read: so different from the other stations) they were when they first were built.
