From my understanding, the Canadian tradition is to cook and serve the turkey the weekend before Thanksgiving. So we had our big show last night.
Here's what was on the menu: turkey stuffed with white-bread sage dressing, German-style potato salad, red cabbage with apples, green beans, turkey gravy, rolls and to top it off, pumpkin pie with French vanilla ice cream. It was a feast! Hope my fellow Canadian readers are having a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Sounds wonderful! That is one good looking bird.
Thank you Halycon, similar to the US celebration of Thanksgiving. My mouth has been watering all weekend since you mentioned turkey, we have a month and a half to wait for the glorious feast. Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadians.
une tres belle dinde, vous allez vous regaler hummmm
I didn't know Canada had a Thanksgiving, too! That turkey looks deliciously roasted. Hope you had a happy thanksgiving! :D
Halycon, I originally was headed to Manhattan on Sat but when I saw there was a game against MU on Sat, I changed my plans to Sunday. I did not want in that traffic.... My aunt lives in an assisted living home and I travel right by the stadium to get to her place. I take that back road on 24 hwy once thru Topeka.
Now, THAT is a well cooked bird!

;-D
The turkey is worth a photo...it looks beautiful and the menu sounds yummy. Happy Thanksgiving to you!
That bird does look good! Enjoy the rest of the long week-end.
The turkey looks great, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Quite similar to our feast in the U.S. The turkey looks delicious - like it would melt in one's mouth. Now, I'm wondering if you will also celebrate Thanksgiving on November 24, in honor of your time in the U.S.? :-)
Now that is my kind of Thanksgiving Dinner!
We are having our feast today! Can hardly wait.
Argggh c'est dégoûtant ! J'ai une faim de loup et presque rien au frigo (rentrée hier de Bretagne)... ;-)
Happy Thanksgiving! Everything you named is delicious and the picture itself... speaks!
That turkey makes my mouth water! So beautifully coloured! Yummy!

That looks wonderful and tempting. Only have to wait another 7 more weeks. I hope you had a wonderful day.
Looks delish. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!
Ummmm... Our's is a month and a half away, of course, but maybe I should call KFC for a little appetizer.
No Thanksgiving here, turkey is for Christmas Day.
Sounds delicious! Yes, we celebrated on Saturday. I have no idea why most of us celebrate the weekend before the actual day...but most of us do. :)
wow magnificent and looks delicious!

You did this very nicely, Halcyon. Come on down to Hartford in November for a reprise of your gastronomic artistry.

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
