Time to discover!

I like the way some of the street signs have an extra added slogan. I think Discovery District is a nice name. Let's get to the discovering!

Those extra signs do lend to knowledge of the area. I look for historical districts and anything I can find.

Excellent perspective on this one Halcyon, I like the way you've made the post and wires your focus.

I've always like the Ontario license plates that say "Yours to Discover." (FYI: The older variety said "Keep It Beautiful.")

I'm trying to imagine what you were doing when you took this shot! Looks like you might have been lying down in the street, but I'm sure that's not right!...However, it looks great. And I like discovering!

No left turn from 7am to 7pm, so you wait at 6.55 to turn left to go home?

In Singapore, they have gantries that charge money to use the road. people do just that. bunch up at roads waiting for time to change.

like the angle where you took this shot.

@Ann - traffic conditions in downtown Toronto are terrible. Left hand turns are prohibited on the busy streets during the peak hours in order to avoid backups. There aren't any left hand turn lanes on these streets. Plus you've got streetcars and lot of other stuff going on. Better just not to drive downtown! :)

A lot of these newly named districts are confusing to someone who hasn't lived in Toronto in over 15 years. Still, I like it.

I like the name "Discovery District," too. Columbus has a Discovery District, but so far Hartford does not.

Nice composition and perspective, Halcyon.

This is a dizzying view! And you'd better hurry, I see you have 0 seconds left to finish crossing the street.

Hi there. I visited Canada and Toronto specifically for the first time this year (I hope to go back soon) and I'm really enjoying your blog; seeing some of the sights I visited but also discovering new ones. Please keep it up!

Some of the pics I took are here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/e-clecticism/tags/canada/

A lot going on. Is the building on the left under construction? Looks tall.

Superb composition on this one. Like all of the interesting signs. Looks to be a pretty busy place. Nice entry this week. genie

@Jim - there's always something under construction in Toronto! :)

@Kim - I think these are mostly office buildings. The condos tend to be closer to the water.

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
