I walked through Pardes Shalom cemetery a few weeks ago when we still had blue skies and color on the trees. It's a huge cemetery with lots of different sections for different congregations, this one had headstones all in Hebrew. I almost felt like I was in Israel. For a look at more cemeteries, head to Taphophile Tragics.
According to a reader, the stones read: May they rest in peace in this Pardes (a word meaning either paradise or orchard). I am guessing in this case, they mean paradise - although there are some orchards in Ontario!

I think I remember blue skies and colourful leaves. :) I love the look of Hebrew script.
Looks like a beautiful place. It's a beautiful photo. Shalom!

What a beautiful picture and such wonderful stones. Thank you for linking up with Cemetery Sunday
Beneath Thy Feet
les couleurs de l'automne vont tres bien avec le cimetiere
the trees are beautiful as is the sky
Astoria is too small for a synagogue or Jewish cemetery, but I came across a plot in one of our cemeteries with Hebrew writing and stones (?) placed on the marker. It was an interesting corner of the cemetery. I enjoyed this post.
Anyplace in the world feel a little bit like Israel, since the diaspora...
Nice tumb stones ; may they rest in peace.
I like your composition. Wonderful colourful background for these great stones.
such a pretty setting. I miss the autumn colours already.
You even got a reflection. Very nice.

A lovely shot!
Lovely, especially with Dina's explanation.
Glorious colors on the trees!
Lovely spot, great composition.
Nice shot, pretty graveyard.
@Dina - thanks for the translation!
Must mean Paradise! I love fruit as well as the next guy (maybe more), but I wouldn't necessarily want to spend eternity in an orchard ;>)
Beautiful setting. The yellow gradation is gorgeous.
How beautiful. I love exploring old cemeteries. They're so peaceful, and it's always interesting to wonder about the stories of the people who rest in them.
Paradise and orchard both fit, don't you think?
Nice shot.
Interesting! At a local cemetery, it's common to have Hebrew on one side and English on the other.

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
