Past, present, future

I found this mural depicting Toronto (and other cities) through the ages inside the Sterling Tower. I love the mix of old-timey and modern mixed together here - especially the satellites in the sky! This mural was part of the Art Deco tour I recently took part in, unfortunately I don't remember all the history behind this work of art, but it's pretty special. For more murals, take a look at Monday Mural.

What a great find. It reminds me of the inside of the Chrysler Building, NYC.

This mural is different shades of the same colour. Neat.

I was going to ask if you had an Eiffel Tower in Toronto. :-) It wouldn't surprise me 'cause Toronto has so many great things going for it. I love the mural...it has an elegant feel to it. Very classy.

I think that I need to put notes above my computer so that I remember all the different memes. I especially like Mural Monday since no two murals are remotely alike!

Great mural, Halcyon. It does look like art deco -- i.e., 1920s or 30s -- but what is that satellite at the top left?

What an intriguing mural. I like the almost 3D effect the artist achieved.

@Jack - the tour guide talked about this mural - it's just a representation of all the great things that have happened through the ages. Sort of a funny way to represent though, I think.

It's a very special mural Halcyon, has such a lovely feel to it, could be the sepia tones, really like it.

Fascinating with so many iconic images. Love the women in their cloche hats. The satellites must be Way Back machines. Your title says it all. Thanks for contributing to Monday Mural.

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
