I really hesitated between two shots for today's theme day, but I decided to use this one. The runner-up is a bit abstract, perhaps I'll show it to you later in the week. Almost anyone that knows me realizes that squirrels are the bane of my gardening existence. But this little guy was just so cute as he posed for me on the University of Toronto campus, that I couldn't help snapping a shot. They're always cute, until they're digging up your garden and eating your tulip bulbs!
Animals were the choice for this month's CDP theme day. If you'd like to see more, click here. And I've got a bonus pretty kitty for you on my travel blog!

They may be cute, but they're still rodents! :D
Cute they are but a nuisance I gather. we only have the odd one around here - instead we have wild boars!
un ecureuil en plein hiver, il doit avoir froid et avoir du mal a trouver des touristes pour le nourrir, belle photo
Trop mignon !
Awww! that's a very cute 'nuisance' Halcyon. Lovely shot!
Excellent image, the light is impressive!
awwwww, he's cute...we have tons of squirrels that play in our yard, love them...but then i don't have tulip bulbs lol
Well, I think it was quite gracious of you not to bash the little rascal on the head with your camera. Instead, you took his portrait. I'm sure he's very appreciative, too! :-)
I love to watch squirrels scamper, but this one looks a little cold!
Nice capture. I suppose the ground is too frozen for him to dig up any problems right now.
@Olivier - il ne faut pas avoir de souci pour ces animaux. Ils ont plein à manger !
@SRQ - actually we've had quite a light winter here. The ground has not been frozen at all. It was around 6c when I took this shot and the snow was melting.
Oh so cute. He is an amazing model.
I still think they are cute even though they eat my veggies!
Ah! The cuteness depends on context doesn't it? Whose garden they are digging up ;-)
Great photo!
they are annoyingly cute. I had one that used to break into my kitchen through the screen.
This animal also eats my bird seed and torments my dog.... lol Great theme!
A SQUIRREL! My temperature rose ten degrees. I have reflexive responses to even the word "squirrel."
What a cutie!
You sound like my brother.
Glad to hear that your winter isn't very bad this year.
I almost didn't see the little guy! I know you'll groan but...I actually miss seeing squirrels! We don't have them here :)
Here it is, 'my' londoner's cousin! :-)

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
