The Underground is a well-known venue inside the Drake Hotel on Queen West. It's quite quirky inside and I can imagine it would be fun to see a show there.
I couldn't decide if I liked the sign better in color or black and white, so I decided to post both. I'm sorry for my absence of late, but the new job and the long weekend kept me busier than I imagined. Hopefully I'll get back into a rythm with my blogging soon so there won't be any further lapses.
In the meantime, you can see more signs at Signs, Signs.

I like the colour version best, it shows the marbling to better effect. And I'm not a great B & W fan anyway.
I think I like the colour best too although the B & W is quite striking. I can't decide!
I vote for the color. The B&W would be more dramatic if you cut down the highlights and increase contrast in a photo editor, IMHO.
I am intrigued by this sign.
I like the b&w.
i love the textured mossy green wall.
Impressive sign.
Sydney - City and Suburbs
The B&W seems appropriate for the name of the place, but I love the shades of green in the first image.
belle photo , avec une preference pour la version couleur
I like the colour version better.
Another vote for the coloured version.
@all - thanks for all the feedback. I agree with many of you that it would have been a shame to lose the green, marbley effect, but I do have a penchant for b&w!
@Bob - I don't have any fancy software, just Picassa. I did try and up the contrast, but it made that flash spot stick out even more. But thank you for your opinion and insight. I love criticism/ideas! :)
I'm with the coloured vote Halcyon, it's the greens that did it, you can just sort of imagine green slime underground!
The gold lettering on the green marble is a perfect combination.
and I know about jobs getting in the way of the fun stuff...!
the green is beautiful, interesting pattern

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
