Only in Pisa...

I was driving around the other day and found this wonderfully kitschy Italian restaurant and I just had to stop to get a shot. I'm dedicating this post to VP at Livorno Daily Photo as I think he would agree, only a Pisan would like to eat here! It's an all-you-can-eat Italian buffet and from the looks of the place, it doesn't seem to be very refined.

I do like the big red tomato though! And if you'd like to see more red, take a peek at Ruby Tuesday.

No doubts about to be an Italian restaurant! ;)

How delightful. I'll bet pizza was the speciality.

It's an eye catcher and from personal experience I know the food is good.

@Andy - I was guessing it can't really be so bad judging by the number of cars in the lot and the people queuing. :)

Busy with so much bright colour! Such a unique place guaranteed to stir the curiosity!

I agree: we would call it 'roba da torta', which is not a compliment, and literally means 'things you throw in a pie'.

that looks like a really fun place to eat! where i grew up, we had a leaning tower of pisa too and when i was really young, it was an italian place but then went out of business and became a frozen yogurt place. i don't remember eating there when it was italian but ate a lot of frozen yogurts there! ours isn't as cool looking as yours...you can see it here https://www.facebook.com/yogurtmill i do miss it though!

That looks like a very interesting place. I am not Italian but if I see that, I'd be curious and try the place.

You're right, it doesn't look refined, but then all-you-can-eat isn't exactly refined either! As long as the food is good it don't matter anyhow!

You DO make me want to visit Toronto. Sigh... But at least I get to see and feel it through you. I'll take what I can get.

I wonder why the inside is like. Great way to bring attention to a business.

Boy you can't miss that. Even drunk.

If you don't mind, Hal, I might skip this restaurant. There are SO many wonderful Italian restaurants to choose from . . . we don't need to go to marginal ones.

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
