Christmas in July

When I first moved to Canada, my husband and I visited the Saint Lawrence Market quite often. However, once we found a weekend market closer to home, we stopped going. A couple of weekends ago, we thought we'd stop by again to see how things were. Not much had changed since the last time we were there, even the Christmas window mural is still up! I guess I can understand why the operators wouldn't want to wash it off and paint it new every year, but...

If you're interested in seeing more murals, take a look at Monday Murals.

I guess it could be taken for a winter window - and it does make you feel a little cooler looking at it!

The cardinal looks a little faded!

Old and stale doesn't encourage repeat visits does it? It should come down.

One great big hmmm? Other than making one feel cool in this heat wave?

What can one say? I had a friend in Texas who didn't take down his Xmas decorations until July. i'd bug him about it, but he'd just smile at me! :-)

I really like this one, though as Red says, the cardinal is a little faded looking. and it is July. and 34C! good catch.

It reminds me of Kathe Wohlfahrt in Rothenberg and many other German cities. Christmas 365/24/7. I don't think I have ever walked out without having shipped something back home.

Make one look forward to Winter, maybe.

Maybe they forgot about the window? The seasonal neglect is not a good way to advertise your wares. This does remind me though of how window painters have their own artistic skills. Thank you for participating in this week's Monday Mural.

It's a beautiful decoration and I imagine they like it a lot to keep until July! :)

I rather like this cardinal! I wouldn't feel the same about a santa, angel or snowman... TO is well represented this Mural Monday! I wonder whether I'll have time to drop by the St Lawrence Market in the next ten days... in my memories it's fabulous.

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
