For December's theme, I've chosen to show you a street that feels like mine since I drive on it every day to and from work. Highway 401 is the major road through Toronto and North America's busiest highway. Although I don't actually live on the 401, with the traffic some days (especially when there are problems like this car fire) it sometimes feels like I do!
For a look at other interpretations of today's theme, take a look at the CDP homepage. Happy December everyone!

Camera always at the ready :-)
I try to avoid the 401 as much as possible!
A real action shot!
someone is having a bad day..
Ugh! This looks like the highway I "lived" on in my last years in California, including soundwalls, traffic jams, and the occasional daily drama. One person has a bad day and so does everyone else. . .
Yikes! What a wonderfully dramatic shot for the theme! Kudos to you. But I'm glad I don't have to drive the 401 every day. Been there, done that! :-)
A thoughtful and great mean to measure time and life indeed.
Please have a safe and good new month ahead.

Ohhhh, that was not a good day on Highway 401. I usually had short commutes, for which I was thankful.
It's a good photo of a bad day. Thankfully I have only rarely had to commute via a busy highway. Thanks for your interpretation of the theme.
Eek!
Yeah, that's how I feel about our university's street.
I do not miss commutes like this. Excellent theme day shot.
The 401 is the quickest way across the top of the city. It's also full of surprises like the one you captured in your excellent photo.
Oh yes when I was a commuter I spent 5 hours a day on such a street ... I was so glad to give it up. I work from home now.
what a great dramatic shot for "your street"!
A dramatic image!
OMG! What a capture!
Yikes! You caught a great action shot (even while driving) on 'your street'!
Oh, I do not miss commuting on highways... nice action shot!
I think you win for most dramatic street photo! This is a great shot. The car looks like it's toast, but I hope whoever was in it was okay.
@LongBeach - the man was sitting by the side of the road. He looked really distressed, but not injured. Although it was scary, I was just glad I passed this fire before the fire brigade was there. Once the firefighters start their work, more lanes get shut down and it's even harder to get through. It seems there is at least one major accident per day on the 401. I worry that statistically one day it's going to be me. :S
Wow! You really were caught up in the drama, with a camera at hand!
@Hamilton - I actually took this shot with my iPhone. :)

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
