Making tracks


I guess there's a reason why we use the term bird-brain. It looks like these pigeons were turning round and round in circles! Makes for a nice monochrome shot however, and if you'd like to see more take a look at the Weekend in Black and White.

Pigeons are not my favorites for a variety of reasons, and their mental capacity is demonstrated well in your photo.

Re your comment today: Hartford has a big Latino population and it is the fastest-growing demographic group. Two decades ago the strongest political force was the African Americans. For the last decade or more, the Latinos have held the mayor's office and the majority on the city council.

The pattern looks entirely random, but then pigeons are better known for their endurance than their brilliance.
