Here's a look at some of the pieces in the Gardiner Museum's permanent collection. These works are certainly more traditional than the pieces I showed earlier this week. I must admit, I wouldn't necessarily want these in my home either, but I can admire the work that went into making and painting these figurines.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I'm hoping to get some nice fall shots to showcase next week.

So carefully made!
God bless you!

I agree with you: these are lovely, but a bit too much for the task!
If there's some Meissen... I'll take it!
My mother used to call these "dust collectors", which is a bit too harsh, though I wouldn't have them in my home either. One can admire the talent and the work that went into them without necessarily liking the pieces.
I grew up with the term "dust collector," too, and I don't much care for dusting. I guess they're best under glass and someone else's care.
I've always had the same reaction to these pieces.

These are lovely in their way, but I agree that I wouldn't want them, either. Though I do like small figures for Christmas creche scenes.
Nice collection.
I wouldn't want 'em, either, but they are quite elegant and attractive! Great photo!
... but they would be such conversation starters. WHAT are these...
Amazing pieces you have shown us on display at this museum.
I really like all the detail and the variety of color.

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
