Man and doorway

Another great doorway from the Distillery District. I really love the contrast of the red brick and the green door.

But I also think it looks good in black and white. Which one do you prefer?

i like both but it's a shame to hide that pretty green door!

Because the door is such a gorgeous green, I'd choose the color. But the B&W is very dynamic as well ;D

I choose the color too. Just a thought -- what if you crop out the sky and the shadowy part on the bottom? Would throw more focus on the man and the door.

Me too - I like the colour!

I like it, Halcyon. I go for the colors. They are good and they provide ample contrast. Once you did it in B&W, the dark shadow on the bottom stood out, and I barely noticed it in the colored shot.

I think I prefer the B&W one, but it's the 1st time I hesitate :-)

In my humble opinion this is like asking if I prefer an out-of-focus picture or a sharp one. Without any offence, in the era of digital photography taking pictures in B&W with cameras capable of millions of colors is an abused and futile mannerism...

I agree that the green is stunning with the brick. I like the architecture you are finding around Toronto. Makes me want to play tourist there. :)

This one is difficult. Had you not shown the color version, I would have quickly said b/w. The green door is the focal point in this shot and I view the man as the balance for the composition and less important in this shot.... Therefore, I'm going with "color."

I also love the texture, the brick is fabulous. Both pictures are great and the b&w version reminds me old movies, cool! :)

The color version gets my vote.

I think the B&W tie it all together - wonderful.

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
