Red and green

Since I never got the memo as to when it's ok to put up the tree in Canada, I decided to follow the American custom and put it up this past weekend (after the Thanksgiving holiday). It's mainly red and silver, although there's a bit of gold in there too. Bring on the holidays!

To see more red from around the world, visit Ruby Tuesday. And I've still got more shots from Berlin on my travel blog.

Also bei uns wird zwar zum 1. Advent schon schön dekoriert (etwa den Adventskranz und Pyramiden / Raüchermännchen) aber der Baum wird erst kurz vor Heiligabend geschmückt!

Gorgeous tree Halcyon, good to see you're in the Christmas spirit. My daughter would have us put the tree up in October, she loves it (she's 27 haha!) manage to put her off until mid December!

Looks lovely- The first weekend in December is the traditional time in the UK for many to put up their trees. Chrissy at Manchester: a photo a day at Mancunian Wave

Your tradition works well in Canada. My artificial tree will be going up this coming weekend.

A pretty tree! I don't think we have a set time to put up trees here in Canada. A lot of people put it up the first day of Advent.

Sorry I couldn't help with the proper time to put up a tree - I think every one has their own schedule. For me, I can barely think about Christmas until the first snowfall - which, surprisingly, hasn't happened yet!
The first advent seems a good time.
Yours is very pretty.

It is a bit early for us, but I am not sure if there is a correct time here.

Your first tree in your new house! Very nice. I haven't even thought about our tree yet.

I remember my parents would put up the tree just a couple of weeks before Christmas. When we moved to Kansas City, as you may remember, people put up lights and trees a week or two before Thanksgiving. Sure enough one night on an evening walk a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving I found outdoor lights and the inside tree all lit up on a neighbors house. I'm with you bring on the holidays. I have been out taking photos of some decorations in downtown.

That's very nice and not unlike our tree which Lois is decorating at this very moment. Unfortunately, I couldn't assist her 'cause I had so many important things to do. :-)

Since my husband and I are Catholic, I make sure that the tree is up by the first Sunday of Advent, which was Nov 27 this year. You have a very lovely tree!

Thank you for the welcome back. :)

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
