This is another work from the Gardiner that I actually liked. Maybe I am drawn to these haunting faces, but there is something about the expression here that just pulls me in. This piece is by American artist Doug Jeck; it's part of the Gardiner's permanent collection.

I should put this place on my list of things to see - maybe they'll look better "in person".

Well, you have every right to like this thing, but I find it repelling. The guy reminds me of some sneaky character who's promising good things but has nothing but evil in mind! Yikes! :-)

Oops. I think I should have used the word, "repellant," and not "repelling." Oui?

Very strange but also captivating.

You've captured this from a good angle. I find the expression very compelling. It's quite well done, but troubling in an unexpected way.

Ah ça j'aime bien aussi malgré la mélancolie et la tristesse !

For me it'd the outstretched hand that draws me in. :)

I love this. He looks almost sorrowful. The angle is perfect.

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
