Souls Memorial

The Souls Memorial is a tribute to the co-operation between Canada and the First Nations people. You'll find it under the Blue Waters Bridge in Sarnia, Ontario. It's quite a moving work and it looks great against a blue sky. For more skies from around the world, visit Skywatch.

It's a beautiful piece so I did some research on it. Found out that part of it is symbolic of the ancestors that came before. The smoothness of the stone (?) and its simplicity adds to the beauty of the monument.

It's an impressive sculpture and your picture is beautiful with the contrast of blue sky and the white statue!

Very fine photo what with the contrast between the ivory of the sculpture and the blue sky. And anything to strengthen relations between people is good.

Taking it one day at a time here. Hope you're doing well.

It's a beautiful piece of work with a lot of meaning, excellent capture Halcyon. I've just been enjoying your last few posts also, I really miss the CDP forum page, it was such a great way to keep in touch.

Very nice - traditional but modern at the same time!

A very interesting design. I find it interesting that they have no mouths. I better do some research too about the meaning. - Margy

I'd love to know who the sculptor was. It has a modern take on the totem pole, methinks.

It's beautiful. Do you know what material was used? It looks so smooth and warm.

I would like to hear the artist's explanation of what the repeated faces mean.

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
