Windy day

Here's a look at the plaza where I got the rogue red tulip. It was a windy day which made the Canadian flag furl out beautifully!

This plaza is also the terminus of the old Nine Mile Portage. Portages were Indian trails which were often used by the British in their conquest of the new land. The town of Barrie was built up around this site as it was apparently one of the more important trails.

Great overview, looks like a nice place to sit and enjoy the fresh air.

That wind is definitely brisk - that flag looks starched!

une belle place sous le vent.

I do not like wind, but other than that it appears to have been a beautiful day and this is a beautiful spot. I've read a bit about portages and they were often quite long and very difficult. Lewis & Clark discovered that, much to their dismay!

As lovely in the overview as it was the closeup. (And I have tulip envy.)

I like your flag. I like Canada. Sometimes my wife and I get so fed up with this country we talk about emigrating (not that it's so easy).

We were in Toronto on Canada Day two years ago. Someone gave me a Canadian flag in the melee at that plaza at Younge and Gerrard. It's still in the pen and pencil cup in my home office.

Lovely windy spring day. The bright yellow flowers add accent to the landscape!

I have a feeling of the wind and the cold weather there, very well captured, I like a lot the detail of the flag and wow so lovely benches in this plaza!
Great shot!

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
