Last year I planted these beauties in a flower box, this year I put them in a bed. They did grow a bit taller in the bed, but still not as big as traditional dahlias. But I adore these flowers and that bright orange however high they get! Hope you have a happy Friday and a wonderful weekend. For more flowers, take a look at Floral Friday Fotos.

So beautiful!
i love the color--i haven't seen a dahlia in this color before.
Beautiful orange color. Mine is pink!
Very pretty shade of orange.
A gorgeous colour!
I'd say they're pretty gorgeous. Much prettier than my "wheaty, grassey thingys." :-) You're too much!
Have a fun weekend. Try to play a little golf. I have fun playing golf even if it kills me!
I woke up to this photo on my phone this morning. What a treat!
These are amazing.
They look good to me, Halcyon. There are two dahlia beds at Elizabeth Park that are peaking now. Some of them are looking me eye to eye.
I love the color! Gorgeous dahlias.
My entry.
Such a divine colour Halcyon..gosh reading Jack's comment I didn't realize that they grew so tall, you learn something every day as a blogger oui!
Perhaps your dahlias belong to the shorter Miniature dahlias?
Love your beautiful picture!!
Greetings from Guildwood,
Gisela.
@guild-rez - they are hybrid dahlIas, so not meant to be as tall as the regular variety.
@PerthDP - dahlias get pretty tall, although I've never seen them at eye level. Maybe jack will feature some shots on his blog.

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
