This is the Ark of the Torah where the Torah scrolls are kept. There is a little curtain that can be pulled back to expose the scrolls or to take them out for reading. This little tour of the Kiever Shul concludes my Doors Open Toronto tour. I hope you have enjoyed it!

Where's Indiana Jones??? Just kidding.
Thanks for the peek inside. I love to visit sacred places like this.
C'était possible de photographier ? Ca me surprend ! En tout cas c'est beau et solennel.
So much detail, what a beautiful photo!
A beautiful shot, Hal! Perfect with the candles. Love all that dark wood, too.
I'll have to remember this location for next year.
Well, good thing the Wizard isn't behind the curtain. Love the photo.
So beautiful.
Have enjoyed it very much Halcyon and what a fabulous way to conclude the series. A wonderfully sensitive series of images from inside and out at Kiever Shul.
Thanks for sharing!
Unique posting.
Really beautiful image!
God bless you!

I hate the new word verification. Since I have trouble reading those "words", I am assuming others do too.
